1. Troy Brown Jr. finally impressed

Troy Brown Jr. caused Wizards nation to be a little concerned when it came to his recent performances. Friday night, he finally put to rest everyone’s thoughts and concerns about his recent play and showed why the Wizards took him with their 15th overall pick in the draft.

Brown finished with 21 point, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Fourteen of these points occurred in the second quarter, which helped put the Wizards in the driver’s seat for the remainder of the game. He was able to get attack the basket, which allowed him to shoot 11 free-throws. This was one of the more impressive stats of the night for him.

He displayed great court-vision that players his size don’t normally have. On top of this, Brown had some good ball-handling moments throughout the game as well. This is what everyone has been waiting to see! He’s got all the potential to be a well-rounded player in the league, but just needs to have the mindset of an assassin on a nightly basis and understand that it’s acceptable to make mistakes. Thats how players learn.

Brown finished the preseason on a high note. I know it’s against a CBA team, but sometimes all players need is a boost of confidence. Hopefully this will carry over to start the regular season.

Washington has young talent that can gives the organization a bright future. The franchise finally seems to be headed in the right direction.
