1. John Wall
Wall has been the superstar that has kept D.C. relevant during his NBA tenure. Wizards’ fans have watched Wall mature before their very eyes. They’ve seen all the good and the bad, but have been able to witness his growth.
Similar to Howard, Wall needs a championship to solidify his career. This season, Wall and the Wizards, have a legit chance to make it to the finals. I’ve said over and over again that the East is wide open. Lebron James is gone and all the top echelon of teams aren’t separated by much.
A healthy Washington roster could be the most dangerous in the East. Right now, the team is flying under the radar, which is perfect. Let everyone create noise around the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, and Philadelphia 76ers. If people take the time and really analyze these rosters, it will just bring to light that the Wizards are more talented from top to bottom.
Wall must capitalize on all the talent around him this year. He might not get another opportunity like this in his NBA career. A monstrous season could be on the horizon for Wall if everything goes according to plan.
Washington hasn’t lived up to expectations for quite some time now and that mainly falls on Wall’s shoulders. The Wizards aren’t taken seriously and that needs to change. Wall has some work to do and he needs an emphatic bullet point to put on his resume. It’s Eastern Conference finals or bust for him and the Wizards this season.
