Washington Wizards: 3 matchups to watch vs. the Golden State Warriors
1. Markieff Morris vs. Draymond Green
This is the matchup that I’m looking forward the most. Surprising, I know. But the battle between these two gentlemen isn’t something that can be determined by the stat sheet. And I’ll admit, I may be looking forward to a shove here and there.
Markieff Morris and Draymond Green are individuals that bring a different element to their respective teams. Both bring a tenacity, edge, and hard-nose attitude that sets the tone for each game.
You could say that Green wears the blue-collar persona better than anyone in the league. Most people have declared him the glue that keeps the Warriors together. He’s demonstrated that he’s scared of no one and that he will do whatever needs to be done for his team to come out victorious.
It’s fair to say that Morris isn’t on the same level as Green, but Morris is the Wizards version of of him. It’s hard to measure up to a Defensive Player of the Year and Two-Time All-Star, but Morris has the mentality where accomplishments don’t matter. Challenges are always welcomed by the big man.
What can we expect from these two individuals?
I’m assuming at least one scuffle occurs with both players receiving technical fouls. I don’t think these guys will stop trash talking one another the entire game, which makes it the best duel to watch as it will be the most entertaining.

A chance at a fight will always supersede scoring the basketball. I would love one of these guys to get tossed. Green has the higher probability of that happening and will be sure to let Morris know that he will challenge him on the court and outside the arena.
