Washington Wizards: 5 Trade Scenarios to save the Wizards season
Through the first 12 games this season the Washington Wizards boast an abysmal record of 3-9 and many are calling for answers.
This isn’t just a horrible start, it’s a huge disappointment. Heading into the 2018-2019 NBA season the Washington Wizards were thought of by some to legitimately contend in the Lebron-less Eastern Conference, especially with the new additions, along with a healthy John Wall.
Wall and Bradley Beal are supposedly one of the most talented backcourt combinations in the NBA, let alone in the East. Apparently, they are only good enough to win three games, but that’s not the only problem.
The bench production has been horrible with the new additions of Jeff Green and Austin Rivers. Otto Porter Jr. is becoming worse each game and his $100 million contract is in the Gilbert Arenas file of worst contracts given to NBA players.
Some would say that Scott Brooks should be on the hot seat if not fired, but let’s pump the breaks on that. He has a fully guaranteed contract and the Wizards are already over the cap.
Adding another coach and paying Brooks at the same time logically doesn’t make sense. He’s a capable coach that has a load of talent in that locker room. Sometimes coaches can only do so much before their players start to perform.
The Wizards have a 5 game home stretch in which they seek to turn things around, but that may not be the answer everyone in D.C. wants to hear.
What’s the solution? It’s time to blow it up.
Here are 5 trade scenarios for the Wizards that would help save their season.
