5. Los Angeles Lakers

The Wizards make a blockbuster trade with Magic Johnson and the Los Angeles Lakers. Johnson is looking for another star to pair alongside with LeBron James to dethrone the Golden State Warriors.

Between Lonzo Ball and Rajon Rondo the Lakers can’t seem to decide which one to start at the point guard position. With the addition of an All-Star caliber player in Wall, the Lakers might be a more attractive destination for other free agents to follow suit this upcoming offseason.

The Lakers have gotten off to a slow start as well. Head Coach Luke  Walton is said to be on the hot seat, even though he’s been guaranteed the rest of this coaching season. It may be hard to let some of the young core pieces they have depart, but this might be the solution to a quicker turnaround.

Johnson is feeling pressure and it doesn’t help when James is 34 years old and on the back end of his career.  James and Johnson both want one more go around in the Finals, and with the current roster, they may not even be a lock to make the playoffs with all the powerhouses in the Western Conference

Kawhi Leonard is leading the Toronto Raptors to an astounding 12-1 start, meaning he might not be going anywhere after this season. Why wait and strike out? Magic can hit gold in a trade that James would be most pleased with.
