The Washington Wizards fell short of a four game win streak, losing to the visiting Brooklyn Nets 115-104 Friday night.

Dwight Howard produced his best game thus far for the  Washington Wizards, packing the stat line with 25 points and 17 boards before fouling out in the 4th. Kelly Oubre’s 18 points off the bench provided another great spark in a game where they needed it most. John Wall and Bradley Beal combined for a quiet 36 points while shooting 36.8%.

The achilles heel of Washington on Friday night was three point shooting. The Wizards hoisted 18 shots from long range, knocking in a mere 3 attempts.

Wall, Beal and Oubre connected on one three each, with marksmen Otto Porter shooting 0-3 from beyond the arc. The last time Washington made just 3 pointers in a game? Two years ago; December 21, 2016 vs. Chicago. The Wizards came out on top that evening, 107-97.

Sunday features two of the best backcourts in the NBA, Damian Lillard & CJ McCollum vs. John Wall & Bradley Beal. Due to the parity in the guard play, tonight’s game will be decided in the paint.

Dwight Howard has been nothing short of dominant over the past 5 years vs. the Portland Trail Blazers. Howard averages nearly 17 PPG & 14 RPG in his most recent outings against the Blazers.

Markieff Morris will look to continue his success against Portland, as he scored his season high 28 points in their first meeting in late October. The Trail Blazers come into Washington on a two-game losing streaks, falling to the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves this past week. Expect this game to be physical and highly competitive, as both teams will fight to land back into the win column.
