The Philadelphia 76ers will be a tough opponent Friday night for the Washington Wizards. Can the team redeem themselves after their recent lost to the New Orleans Pelicans?

The Washington Wizards lost by 21 Wednesday evening thanks to Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans.  Davis ended  the game with 28 points and 15 rebounds.

Washington reverted back to their normal tactics, which was losing the game by halftime due to their defensive woes. John Wall and Bradley Beal had off nights as neither one of them scored above 20 points.

The Philadelphia 76ers are 7-3 in their last ten games. This includes two game winners from Jimmy Butler. Their most recent matchup was against the New York Knicks and they dismantled them 117-91.

They currently are third in the East, but have all the star power to easy make a push for the top spot. Despite all the drama surrounding Markelle Fultz, the Sixers are playing great basketball. Adding Butler has turned out to benefit the team significantly.

On the other hand, the Wizards have gone 6-4 in their last 10 games and have made some improvements. The lineup change seems to be working, but they have yet to reach that final breakthrough of being consistent every night. A big reason why they wouldn’t be in the playoffs if they started today.

The Wizards will have their hands full Friday night in Philly. This game will be another test to see how the team stacks up against the the top talent of the East.

Let’s take a look at 3 matchups to watch Friday night.
