The Philadelphia 76ers will look to expose Washington Wizards center Thomas Bryant in tonight’s matchup.

Will Joel Embiid easily get into the head of Thomas Bryant? Can Bryant guard Embiid out at the 3-point line?

For a 21-year-old kid, I’m sure that we can all agree that Bryant plays with a lot of passion and energy. The Washington Wizards are coming into tonight’s matchup versus the Philadelphia 76ers allowing 118.2 points per game this season.

Look for the 76ers to take advantage of Bryant’s youth, and send Embiid into the post early. With Embiid averaging just over 23 points per game, it will be necessary at times for the Wizards to double team him. During the Wizards last game against the New Orleans Pelicans, the team failed to switch off at times, essentially giving Anthony Davis easy buckets.

With Dwight Howard sidelined for an undetermined time frame, the Wizards can look to a guy like Bryant for stats that might not show up in the box score. Hustle plays, emotion,  and most importantly, not giving into Embiid’s bully ways, can all be factors in helping the Wizards win tonight’s game.

I can assure you that the only thing Wizard fans would like to see is a defensive effort. Blocking shots, steals, taking charges are things the Wizards seem to lack. As the saying goes, defense wins championships, so until the Wizards can play defense consistently, there won’t be any championships insight.
