5. New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans showed interest in Otto Porter after they struck out on Jimmy Butler. This is a trade that could most definitely work out in both teams favor.

Pelicans management need to do everything they can to try and get Anthony Davis to want to stay in New Orleans and this would be a great way to do so. Jrue Holiday and Davis have been a nice combo and Nikola Mirotic has been great spreading the floor.

Julius Randle has had a breakout year that the Pelicans should capitalize on. New Orleans desperately needs an upgrade at the forward position. Solomon Hill is a good role player and great defender, but lacks in the offense department. Porter would be an upgrade offensively and the team wouldn’t miss a beat on the defensive end since Porter is a solid defender.

The Wizards would be better suited for Hill since he is more of a role player. He would fit in with the team seamlessly. Porter is taking shots away from John Wall, Bradley Beal, and Oubre.

Randle would help on the interior. With Dwight Howard gone for the rest of the season, Randle would be the perfect fit in Washington. He’s currently averaging 18.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Markieff Morris needs help defensively guarding opponents big men and Randle addresses that need. He could flourish more in Washington than New Orleans and that’s hard to believe.
