Can Wall and Beal Keep Up Their Stellar Play?

It’s hard to tell from the Wizards’ lackluster record thus far, particularly over the past couple of weeks, but Wall and Beal are playing at a pretty high level lately.

Beal comes into Tuesday’s contest riding an eight-game streak of 20-plus points. Over that span, he’s putting up 27.5 points per game on 48-percent shooting and 37 percent from the three-point line. As mentioned earlier, this span includes his 36-point showing against Atlanta earlier this month.

As for Wall, he’s on a tear over his last three games. He’s averaging 30.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 13.3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block per game. In the two recent high-profile match-ups against the Celtics and Lakers, Wall looked like he had his swagger back, attacking the rim with ferocity and setting up teammates for easy buckets.

Over Beal’s eight-game scoring streak, the Wizards are just 4-4 and 1-2 during Wall’s, so unfortunately their production isn’t translating into wins. That places even more importance on the two All-Stars to perform on a night-to-night basis, and just hope the rest of the team can come along and give them enough support to get a win. Wall and Beal should be able to have their way in Atlanta.
