2. Wizards trade Pelicans

This trade seems like a lot for both teams. The New Orleans Pelicans would be giving a significant amount of talent up, but they would be receiving younger, better wing options. Porter and Troy Brown Jr. would be better pieces to try and entice Anthony Davis to say with the team.

Washington off-loads big contracts and receives an enormous amount of talent in Solomon Hill, Julius Randle, and Elfrid Payton. The main acquisition for the Wizards would be Randle. He’s a piece that the team can build around alongside Beal.

Randle is averaging 19.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game and has finally had his true breakout season. An absolute beast down in the paint and a fierce rebounder, which is exactly what the Wizards lack.

At this time, everyone knows that New Orleans is trying to do everything in their power to get Davis to want to stay with the team. The best way to do this is to put better pieces around him.

The makeup of their current roster might get an 8th seed at best. But, if they show that they are committed to bringing on better assets to put around the All-Star forward, then he might be more convinced to stay. New Orleans just needs to show that they are making an effort.

Previously, the Pelicans did show interest in acquiring Porter. He would make an immediate impact in the lineup for the Pelicans. Porter provides an upgrade as a shooting option for the team. And if you’ve watched a Pelicans game, this is something that the team drastically needs.
