If we’re getting Gilbert Arenas and Antawn Jamison back on the court, we might as well get the whole gang back together, right?!

During the Wizards’ playoff runs of the mid-2000s, Caron Butler was the third piece to a mini “big three” in Washington. And they were a legitimate big three.

Between 2005 and 2008, each member of Washington’s big three made the all-star game at least twice. Butler represented the Wizards in 2007 and 2008. Jamison went in 2005, and then again in 2008. Arenas, though, was there the most, making the Eastern Conference squad in 2005, 2006, and 2007.

Before Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen went to the Boston Celtics. Before Lebron James and Chris Bosh went to the Miami Heat. Before Ice Cube launched the Big3, the Wizards had a big three of their own.

As a Wizard, Caron Butler put up career highs in points (20.8 in 08-09), rebounds (7.4 in 06-07), assists (4.9 in 07-08), and steals (2.2 in 07-08). While Jamison could do a little bit of everything. Butler really did everything when on the floor for Washington.

Could he be the same type of jack-of-all-trades player on the BIG3 court? There’s only one way to find out.
