Nick Young

It’s hard to think of a player whose personality and showmanship would fit an entertainment league like the BIG3 better than Nick Young.

Although, it might be a bit early to be thinking about Young’s post-NBA life. He was on an NBA team earlier this season even if his time there was short. Young played just 37 total minutes in 4 games this season, all coming while with the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets waived him on December 30, 2018.

Young got his start in the NBA when Washington selected him 16th overall in the 2007 NBA draft. Despite some early growing pains, it was obvious Young could get buckets from the beginning. In his fifth NBA season, Young was averaging more than 16 points per game with the Wizards before he was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. Young’s time in LA, both with the Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers, may have turned him into a bigger star off the court than on it. Dating Iggy Azalea probably helped, too.

If Young’s NBA career is in fact over, why not make the BIG3 switch sooner than later. Just imagine how much fun it would be to watch him dominate a 3v3 game. Swaggy P draining jumpers over Corey Maggette (BIG3 2018 MVP) while being coached by Kenyon Martin. Or something like that.

And you know the shoe game would be impeccable, too.
