4 Players the Wizards Could Target with John Wall’s DPE
By Ethan Smith
JaMychal Green
JaMychal Green bounced around last season, from the Memphis Grizzlies to the Los Angeles Clippers. Although he had limited roles on each team, Green was extremely effective and can add a lot in one area where the Wizards are sorely lacking: rebounding.
Per 36 minutes with the Clippers, Green averaged 12.0 rebounds. Comparing that to what the Wizards did on the board last season, he would only trail Dwight Howard per 36 minutes. His per game average of 6.5 rebounds ranks behind only Howard, Bobby Portis, and Jabari Parker despite All three of those players averaged more than 25 minutes in the games they played with Washington. Green averaged just 19.6 in LA.
But Green can add more than just rebounding. He has excellent range and shot over 40 percent for the entire 2018-19 season. In the combined 65 games he played for both Memphis and Los Angeles, Green averaged 2.7 attempts per game. Last season, no Wizard other than Bobby Portis shot as good of a percentage from behind the arc as Green while attempting at least two three’s a game.
Bobby Portis is now with the New York Knicks.
