Play in 60+ Games

The biggest thing with Isaiah Thomas this season will be his health. The Washington Wizards are already dealing with one sidelined all-star guard. It’d be great if his stop-gap didn’t go down for a considerable amount of time, either.

That being said, I’m sure no one wants Isaiah Thomas to stay healthy for a full season more than Isaiah Thomas.

Through the first six years of Isaiah Thomas’s career, up through his time with the Boston Celtics, Thomas had never appeared in fewer than 65 games. The past two seasons have been a completely different story, unfortunately.

After coming off the hip injury that kept him out of the final leg of the Celtics’ 2017 playoff run, Thomas has failed to appear in more than 32 games for either of the past two seasons. Last year with the Denver Nuggets, Thomas played in just 12 regular season games and started none of them. It was the first time in his NBA career he did not start a single game all season.

The first step for Thomas this season is to be available. Like I said earlier, the Wizards brought him in as a bandaid while John Wall heals. What good is a broken bandaid?
