3 Goals for Isaiah Thomas with the Washington Wizards

Be a Mentor
One thing Isaiah Thomas brings to this Washington Wizards that won’t show up on the stat sheet is leadership.
Say what you want about Thomas’s playing ability, but there’s no disputing he is a high-character guy. His gutsy performances as a member of the Boston Celtics more than proved that. All the locker rooms he’s been in have nothing but praise for the journeyman point guard. As if any more proof was needed, he’s been a fan favorite nearly everywhere he’s played.
Looking at the Wizards roster, there’s not a lot of veteran leadership on it. Trevor Ariza is gone. Jeff Green is gone. Ian Mahinmi and John Wall are both there to share some veteran wisdom, but neither will see much playing time, each for very different reasons.
Troy Brown is 19. Isaac Bonga is 19. Thomas Bryant is 21. Rui Hachimura is 21. Admiral Schofield is 22. Moritz Wagner is 22.
This team is YOUNG. They need some experience to help rally the troops, offer some perspective, and simply help these young guys learn the finer points of the NBA game. It’s going to be a long season without many wins. Having the right guy with the right attitude could go a long way.
