Rui Hachimura

Rui Hachimura will be one of the most exciting players to watch on the Wizard’s Summer League team. Hachimura was the Wizards first round pick in 2019, drafted ninth overall. The Japanese forward is 6-foot-8 and weights 230 pounds. It will be fun how he will lead this team.

Hachimura spent three years at Gonzaga before heading to the NBA. His junior year was incredible. He averaged 19.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while nearly shooting 60 percent from the field. Hachimura won WCC Player of the year and the Julius Erving award for best collegiate small forward. He was also named first team All-WCC and a Consensus first team All-American.

Many fans were upset with Hachimura being picked as they wanted Duke’s Cam Reddish instead. Now, it is time for him to demonstrate to Wizards fans his great talent on the court and that he can be a valuable member to this team, not only for next season, but for many years to come.
