Isaiah Thomas: King in the 4th, Pizza Guy

Mo Wagner: Moe

What’s more likable? Isaiah Thomas the person or his nicknames? It’s hard to find anything negative to say about the all-star journeyman point guard. It’s harder to find anything negative to say about his two top tier nicknames “King in the 4th” and “Pizza Guy.”

Wizards fans know all too well just what Thomas can do in the fourth quarter. He showed them his whole bag during the 2017 playoffs as a member of the Boston Celtics. We’ll see if he’s able to return anywhere close to the form that helped land him that nickname this year with the Wizards. Last season, he wasn’t even part of the rotation with the Denver Nuggets.

Either way, it’s an earned nickname and one that makes “Pizza Guy” even better. At 5’9″, Thomas might look like the pizza guy, but all he delivers are buckets.

Moritz Wagner‘s nickname is similar to Ish’s, but in this unique instance, it’s 1000 times better. No team needs players named “Moe” on the roster as DC does.

Things might get confusing for Wagner as he’s likely to hear his nickname being used for every and anybody when he’s walking through Gallery Place. He’s not the only one around here that people call “Moe.”  Hopefully, that helps him fit right in around his new city.

Despite a lackluster Wizards debut in the team’s Summer League loss to the Brooklyn Nets, the Wizards are hoping for big things from Wagner, a first-round pick just one year ago.
