If the Washington Wizards are going to commit to Bradley Beal as their franchise face, they’ll have to prove they can get him the help he needs. Cue the Oklahoma City Thunder and big man Steven Adams.

Very few teams have had as tough a summer as the Washington Wizards.

They were swarmed with trade rumors and requests regarding their only available All-Star in Bradley Beal, and then he made it public he had no intent to sign an extension, yet.

But GM Tommy Shepard isn’t budging on any deal involving the guard just yet. Which in turn has fans and the league alike suggesting the Wizards engage other teams in search of help.

Cue the Oklahoma City Thunder.

In the same regard as Washington, they haven’t had the best offseason. After losing to the Portland Trail Blazers, Paul George requested a trade to the Los Angeles Clippers.

That left Russell Westbrook once again as the one-man show in Oklahoma. Except for this time, he wasn’t as excited about it and requested a trade, as well.

Westbrook was sent out to the Houston Rockets to rejoin former teammate James Harden. With that, the Thunder’s championship window came to a close.

Which leaves big man Steven Adams caught in the middle, and available for trade. Is he the type of help the Wizards need to put next to Beal to convince him they’re on a path towards winning?

Let’s take a look at a deal for Adams, what it would take, and why both teams might ultimately entertain it.
