In the End, Everyone Wins

In more ways than one, this deal has potential on both ends. By shedding Adams and his contract, the Oklahoma City Thunder can finally close this chapter and officially start their rebuild with a group of fresh new faces in their building. Adams is the last remnants of the Westbrook and even Kevin Durant eras in Oklahoma City.

For the Washington Wizards, it’s a power play aimed to impress Bradley Beal as an assurance that they’ll do whatever they can to continue maintaining a contending roster. Paired with Adams and a healthy John Wall next season, that core could compete for the East.

As the rumors around the Thunder and Adams continue to grow, keep an eye on the Wizards as a potential suitor. Because the fans and front office alike know this: Beal is going to need some help if this team is going to make a run for the playoffs. Tommy Sheppard and company have been telling anyone and everyone that will listen that Beal is not for sale and the cornerstone of the franchise. A move like this would prove they’re ready and willing to go all-in with Beal right now.
