Total number of points scored by Bradley Beal in loss to the Timberwolves

The general thought around the Wizards this season is that they’ll struggle to score when Bradley Beal is having an off night. Against the Timberwolves, he wasn’t having an off night. After a 46-point performance against the Houston Rockets in a truly historical game, Beal followed it up with 30 against Minnesota. It probably could have been more, too. Beal rested the entire fourth quarter, getting all thirty of his points through the first three. But that still wasn’t enough.

Unfortunately, Beal didn’t have much help. Only three other players scored in double-figures: Isaiah Thomas, Moritz Wagner, and Admiral Schofield. It’s the fewest number of double-figure scorers the Wizards have had in any of their games this season.

While Schofield’s quick and efficient 15 was a late-game bright spot, he got them all well after this game was out of reach.

Noticeably absent from the list of double-digit scorers is Rui Hachimura. For Hachimura, the loss against Minnesota was his first real brush with NBA adversity. The ninth-overall pick scored just four points and missed nine of his eleven shots. Hachimuira finished with the team’s lowest single-game offensive rating (40), while his defensive rating (119) was the highest on the team.

A 4-point, 2-rebound performance is far from what Hachimura had been used to. The rookie was averaging 18 points and seven rebounds coming into the blowout loss.
