Bradley Beal Extension

The bench mob has been awesome, but let’s be serious. Bradley Beal is the heart and soul of this Washington Wizards team. And with every passing game, Beal’s recent contract extension looks better and better.

Despite NBA Twitter “experts” telling us there was no way the Wizards could/should resign Beal, and that there was no reason Beal would want to stay in Washington, the All-Star shooting guard extended his stay in D.C. through 2022.

With every passing game, Beal is making the two-year, $72-million extension look better and better. Coming off of a career year, Beal is off to an even hotter start this season.

Beal evolved last season, going from a shooter to a do-it-all guard, and the stats showed the transformation. Beal recorded the franchise’s first 25-point, 5-assist, 5-rebound season during his 2018-19 campaign. Somehow, that wasn’t good enough for All-NBA.

This year, Beal’s taken it even further with the spotlight squarely on him every night. Through 16 games, Beal is averaging career-highs in both points (28.9 per game) and assists (7.0 per game). He ranks third in minutes per game and fourth in points per game.

Bradley Beal is the best shooting guard in the Eastern Conference and that’s no longer a hot take. It’s the truth. Is there a Wizards fan alive that isn’t thankful he signed his extension?
