Starting Shooting Guard: Bradley Beal
I know a lot of people will be shocked by this choice! On a serious note though, the most obvious choice on this entire list is Bradley Beal being the starting two-guard next season. As made apparent by his recently signed extension, it is clear that Bradley Beal (for the moment) is the man in Washington.
With some stellar play after John Wall went down, it is clear that this is now Bradley Beal’s team. As one of the best shooting guards in the league, Beal has made sharp improvements to his game over the past few seasons. And he is still just 26.
Beal has shown that he can carry the load and is much more than just a spot-up shooter. He has improved his scoring off the dribble, his rebounding, and his facilitating over the past year or so. But he’s not done, yet. He still has room to grow.
Although its been a small sample size, Beal has shown that he can be a leader both on and off the floor and seems to be well-liked by many of his teammates.
With Wall due to return soon(ish), it should be interesting to see how Brad can make another step towards becoming a franchise player, especially with some roster additions and everyone returning to full health.
Beal has not been dealt the best hand since becoming the team leader as far as roster construction. As the team begins to improve it will be fun to watch Beal blossom and lead a competitive roster. The Wizards will go as Beal goes and it appears that the entire organization is behind him. As we start to work towards next season it will be interesting to see what the team can get from real deal Bradley Beal.
