What kind of package would get you to move Bertans (if you would move him at all)?

Collin Loring: IF the Wizards are going to trade Bertans, they’ve got to net at least a first-round pick in return. Even with the Latvian Laser entering free agency, he’s a capable defender and knockdown three-point shooter, which should in theory entice every team currently in the
playoff picture.

If Washington isn’t bringing back a first rounder, they better end up with some kind of young talent signed beyond next season.

Jack Skolnik: Going off of what I said above I think a pick would be the best place to start. I wrote the other day that a good package would include a 1st and a young piece to start. A 1st and Malik Beasley assuming you can resign him is currently an interesting place to start.

The one thing the Wizards can’t do is sell Bertans short if they don’t think they can re-sign him. They should get a good haul if they decide to move him and should start with multiple picks or young promising players.

I am still hesitant on moving him because a 6’10 sharpshooter is hard to come by whether you rebuild or are trying to compete. But they have some options so if I am the GM I would definitely keep my ears open.

Noah Ferguson: If I’m the Wizards, I’m only trading Bertans if in return I’m getting youthful and talented players. The last thing the Wiz should do is get rid of Bertans’ talent for another veteran who most likely won’t start next year if Bertans is shopped elsewhere.

If Bertans is traded, I’m looking for someone to replace him at the Small/Power Forward position, who is also young enough to stay on the roster for 3+ years. If the Wizards can’t guarantee this, I would keep Bertans right here in D.C.

Ethan Smith: I’m still out on a Bertans trade, but I’m certainly warming up to it. If someone comes with a first round pick and a young player, it would be hard to turn that down. If Denver comes calling with Michael Porter Jr, I’d take that.
