There’s arguably not anyone on the planet more frustrated with how the Wizards season has shaken out than their star shooting guard, Bradley Beal. He recently expressed frustrations with their consistent losing following Washington’s recent loss to the Bulls.

David Aldridge of The Athletic reinforced this in a recent report:

"“A source who was also there told me Thursday that Beal was as angry with and emotional about his team as he’s ever been since being drafted by the Wizards in 2012.”"

Beal’s tangent went on for a couple minutes, and among the things he discussed were the words: culture change. And if you’re head coach Scott Brooks, that’s got to be about as close as you can get to being missed by a very obvious bullet fired right at you.

The Wizards shooting guard didn’t mention Brooks by name of course, or any displeasure with the coaching staff. But the (pending) All-Star wants to win: now. Why should this be concerning?

Thanks to very recent history, Washington knows that the second Beal wants out, he’ll get it. 2019-2020 was the last deal of his prior contract, before he agreed to an extension before the season. But up until pen and ink touched the paper, Beal was thoroughly the topic of trade talk.

And that extension means he’ll be available again right before free agency in June. If even one executive gets a hint that Beal can be had, the rest of the league will come knocking with loaded offers in exchange for the star’s services.

Washington can beg patience from their guard of course, citing Wall’s upcoming return and the success they’ve seen together as a duo. But how long until that argument loses it’s weight? With each loss, Beal continues to grow frustrated, as he nearly shoulders the entire team in games.

For the Wizards front office, it may be time to send their star a sign. Another sign of promise, not just involving Wall. Maybe they start with a coaching change.
