With the All-Star reserves named, two Washington Wizards writers will name their squad picks for Team Giannis and Team LeBron.

The NBA All-Star game is a ton of fun for every fan and player involved (and we especially like it when Washington Wizards players are selected). It’s a much-needed break in the action where we all sit back and honor the players that have really performed well through a little over half of the season.

The starters & reserves have now been announced for this season’s tilt on February 16th in Chicago, with Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James being the top vote-getters and, thus, becoming the captains of the 2020 NBA All-Star Game. Here are the starters for your 2020 NBA All-Star Game:

East

Giannis Antetokounmpo (Fourth selection, 2017-2020)

Joel Embiid (Third selection, 2018-2020)

Pascal Siakam (First selection)

Kemba Walker (Fourth selection, 2017-2020)

Trae Young (First selection)

West

LeBron James (16th selection, 2005-2020)

James Harden (8th selection, 2013-2020)

Luka Dončić (First selection)

Anthony Davis (7th selection, 2014-2020)

Kawhi Leonard (Fourth selection, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020)

The starters are determined by a combination of fan, player, and media voting, but the reserves, announced on TNT’s NBA Tip-Off on Thursday Night, are picked by the NBA’s coaches and are all set to be drafted to their teams by captain Giannis and captain LeBron on February 6th.

The awesome part of this process is that conferences don’t matter, so East or West, either captain can snag any player. Even better, each quarter will be played for a charity of the team’s choice, giving the game some stakes to keep it competitive.

The coaches are determined by the best record in their respective conferences, so the coaches would  be Mike Budenholzer and Frank Vogel. However, thanks to Pat Riley being the equivalent of an NBA cheat code, the “Riley Rule” claims that the same coach can’t coach the All-Star Game in consecutive seasons (he coached it 8 out of 9 times from 1982-1990). Thus, the projected coaches at the moment, unless something crazy happens, are Erik Spoelstra and Frank Vogel.

No matter what the results, it’s going to be a fun time with the best possible players on the floor, but we here at Wiz of Awes decided we didn’t want to wait, so we got two of our writers together to duke it out and draft their ideal teams.

Here’s the results!
