Pick #12

Team Keith : Ben Simmons (Second selection, 2019, 2020)

Keith: As much as I’m worried about Ben’s lack of shooting, I’m also in love with his athleticism and length, which seems to be a trend on my team. Imagine 6’10” Simmons & Giannis barreling down the court at you with the ball on the fast break. Yeah, good luck.

Kyle Lowry is one of my personal favorite players, but I’m trying to win here people! I couldn’t justify taking the short stack over the 76ers star. Here’s hoping it doesn’t hurt me.

Team Jack: Kyle Lowry (Sixth selection, 2015–2020)

Jack: The last pick is what it is! As a Washington Wizards fan, I strongly dislike Kyle Lowry, however he is still full of production on the floor. Another backup guard who can come in and shoot the three and distribute the ball.

Being the secondary option on a team that is in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race, Lowry brings a lot to the table. Another guy who will be able to add to the positionless type of team that we have, Lowry will fit right in as a guy who can run the floor well and keep up our high-octane style.

Team Keith (Giannis) Final Roster

PG Kemba Walker/Damian Lillard/Ben Simmons

SG James Harden/Khris Middleton

SF Giannis Antetokounmpo/Brandon Ingram/Jayson Tatum

PF Pascal Siakam/Bam Adebayo

C Anthony Davis/Rudy Gobert

Team Jack (LeBron Final Roster)

PG Luka Dončić/Russell Westbrook/Chris Paul

SG Trae Young/Donovan Mitchell/Kyle Lowry

SF LeBron James/Jimmy Butler

PF Kawhi Leonard/Domantas Sabonis

C Joel Embiid/Nikola Jokić

Biggest Snubs

Jack:

Bradley Beal
What’d you expect from a Washington Wizards site?? Bradley Beal is one of the biggest if not THE biggest snub in this years AS game. The man is averaging 28.6 points, 4.4 Rebounds and 6.3 assists, this is a robbery.

I understand that the Wiz are low in the standings and I understand that Beals defense has been questionable, but wow. Brad could have made it over a couple names in my opinion, but we all know he should be there.

Devin Booker
Another guy who is in a smilar situation as Beal, except out West. Booker is having an insane season averaging 27 points on a career high 51 percent shooting. I understand that the West is tough but Booker is having another great season. The Suns, like Washington, are low in the standings which plays a factor into the selection, but give the kid a chance! He is hooping!

Paul George
If it were any other season, Paul George would have made the team. As a guy who was 3rd in MVP voting last year, George’s game is still relatively the same. However, he has missed some time due to injury and is playing second fiddle to Kawhi in LA.

Despite these two things, Paul still probably should have made the team considering what I said above, his game is the same! He has still been shooting at a good clip and has brought it on both ends of the floor. Another big snub.

Keith:

Bradley Beal

I know Jack has the same guy on his list, but come on. 6th in the league in scoring and putting the team on his back, Beal really deserved to represent the Washington Wizards this year, probably more than ever.

Zach LaVine

LaVine is on a bad team, and game after game he has to find a way to score on a stagnant offensive team, with injuries and underperforming players everywhere. Add to that the fact that Zach said he would only do the dunk contest if he made the all-star game, and this kid should have been a shoe-in.

Spencer Dinwiddie

When Kyrie Irving went to the sidelines, it seemed like the Brooklyn Nets were going to automatically go into the “wait until next season” mode. But the Nets suddenly find themselves in the 8th seed in the east, largely behind 21.4 points and 6.5 assists per game. He’ll see a diminished role for the rest of the season, but deserved an all-star appearance for his outstanding play for the Nets so far.

That’s it, how’d our writers do? Anyone you disagree with? Let us know in the comments and check in within the next few days to see what happens when we take our two teams and do a NBA 2K sim to see who comes out on top!
