Washington Wizards: 5 NBA DFS plays and odds for WAS vs. GSW
By Keith Cork
They won’t be playing for much but the Washington Wizards and Golden State Warriors are projected to score 235 points, which means NBA DFS value can be had.
The Washington Wizards and Golden State Warriors both probably won’t be playoff teams this year, but they are both focused on developing young talent at the moment, which means there should be some excellent value for NBA DFS sites out of this high-octane Monday night tilt.
Here are the odds for the game:
Tournament Plays
Draymond Green – Power Forward (FD), Point Guard/Small Forward (DK)
Projected highest value: 8x
FanDuel Price: $6,200
DraftKings Price: $6,500
The point guard designation on DraftKings perplexes me but irregardless, you’ll have a tough time finding a player capable of putting up 48+ fantasy points in a game at the mid $6,000 price range. A feat he’s done twice in the last 3 games. The problem is that Draymond Green can disappear in some games, but that’s just a risk you’ll have to take.
Troy Brown – Small Forward/Power Forward (DK)
Projected highest value: 8.5x
FanDuel Price: $4,700
DraftKings Price: $5,200
This looks like a prime spot for Troy Brown Jr. to pop off. He’s capable of scoring 40+ fantasy points for each site and he’s priced very low for that ability. His usage in the last 5 games is 2 percent less than his usage on the season and that will eventually rebound as the Wizards will need him to score, even with the return of Bradley Beal. It helps that Jordan McRae has already been ruled out for this one.
50/50 Plays
Bradley Beal – Shooting Guard/Small Forward (DK)
Projected value: 5x
FanDuel Price: $10,500
DraftKings Price: $10,100
The secret’s out on Bradley Beal, so you’re going to pay a pretty penny to roster him. He’s the most expensive player for Monday’s 10-game slate on FanDuel and fourth most expensive on DraftKings. However, among the shooting guard options, he’s the safest best to make value averaging 57.5 fantasy points per game and 58.25 over his last four games on FD and DK respectively. Good enough for over 5x value and there’s no reason to think he can’t match that against the defensively handicapped Golden State Warriors.
Thomas Bryant – Center/Power Forward (DK)
Projected value: 5x
FanDuel Price: $5,300
DraftKings Price: $5,800
Thomas Bryant is still priced too low for the numbers he’s going to put up, but I’m sliding him from a tourney play to a 50/50 play because there are just too many pivots out there, like Tristan Thompson or Mitchell Robinson, and people have caught on, which should result in high ownership and drive his price up eventually.
Ish Smith – Point Guard
Projected value: 5x
Ish Smith continues to be slept on, so I’m going to just reiterate what I said last time, because his price is still falling.
“Ish Smith is a safe play, especially at Capital One Arena. He’s averaging 12.6 points and 5 assists in 27 minutes at home as opposed to 9.7 and 4.3 of those same stats in 25.8 minutes per game on the road. Despite Isaiah Thomas being the “starting” point guard, Ish Smith is getting de facto “starter” minutes, typically down the stretch of ball games as well.”
