Thomas Bryant, Davis Bertans, + future 1st round pick, BUT we keep our pick (this year)

*The Wizards would also send their 2021 1st Round Pick

This one makes more sense for the Wizards than the Pistons in the short-term. The Wizards get Drummond, will sit him as mentioned in the previous slide, snag a high lottery pick and suddenly you have a real team on your hands.

Unfortunately, the graphic only shows what exchanges this year, but the Wizards won’t get away with getting Drummond without giving up a 1st round pick. The 1st round pick in 2021 will undoubtedly be lower than the 2020 Washington Wizards 1st round pick, but it’s still a 1st round pick.

The Detroit Pistons would still get the expiring contract from Ian Mahinmi, but they’ll also get a key piece in Davis Bertans. The value there would be that they could then re-sign him and feature a budding three-point shooter, or perform a sign-and-trade in the offseason with a contender to amass more assets (the smarter move).

Of course, this route requires a lot of risk on the Pistons’ part, so it’s more a Washington Wizard writer’s pipe dream. Can you imagine a lineup of Wall, Bradley Beal, Troy Brown Jr., Rui Hachimura, and Drummond?

Plus we’d have a top 5 (most likely) pick off the bench? My mouth is watering at the possibility.
