Beal Demands a Trade

Grade: F

Worse case scenario is that the Washington Wizards just play absolutely awful the rest of the season. They lose most of their games and in the process frustrate Bradley Beal enough to make him publicly demand a trade.

I do not think it would be the absolutely worst to trade Beal, but if he publicly demands a trade, the Wizards would lose all leverage and have to trade him for much less than he is actually worth. This would lead to the Wizards only getting like Gordan Hayward and a late first round pick from the Celtics instead of packages like these.

light. Read. Are the Washington Wizards better without Bradley Beal?

For better or for worse, Bradley Beal and John Wall are the guys we got and they need to hold it down until the next group of young players is ready to take the helm. And I don’t see anyone on this roster in a position to do that just yet.

This would probably also lead to Davis Bertans taking his incredible three-point shooting somewhere else. Then the team next year would be another 20-win season lead by John Wall instead of Beal.
