Nothing Changes and young talent fails to develop

Grade: D

If the Washington Wizards finish the season with 28 or 29 wins, which would be about 11th in the east, they would have a 6% chance to receive the number 1 pick in the 2020 NBA draft. And honestly, that should be a goal although it doesn’t do much to excite fans right this second.

If the injuries continue to pile up, Rui Hachimura gets hurt again and cannot get into any type of rhythm, Bradley Beal remains frustrated with the whole situation in general, the Washington Wizards’ brass would have stayed the course. And we might be on our way to the 9th pick in the draft, which isn’t all that bad.

Another horrible development that could be a possibility would be the young guys do not develop.  Jerome Robinson and Troy Brown Jr. don’t take any steps to further their games and continue the streak of young players on the Wizards who fail to impress, for example.

This would mean that the future is not bright at all at the end of the season, but in this scenario at least Beal has not committed to leaving the team yet. So there’s that.

Staying the course and failed development would earn this Wizards squad a D in my eyes.
