Washington Wizards: 3 Keys to victory over the Chicago Bulls
By Ethan Smith
Can the Washington Wizards finally get a win against the Chicago Bulls this season?
Even though they allowed rookie phenom, Ja Morant, to record his first career triple-double in their recent loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, the Washington Wizards are playing some of their best basketball all season.
Over their last ten games, the Wizards are 5-5. Now for most teams, a .500 record is thoroughly average. And it is in D.C., too. Nobody’s throwing any parades for this short stint of “success.” But it is the most wins they’ve had over any ten-game stretch this season, and a .500 winning percentage is a good 15 points higher than the one they have with an 18-32 record.
Their winning ways even have them in the playoff hunt — kind of. But if the Washington Wizards can’t beat the Chicago Bulls, they have no business flirting with some of the NBA’s favorites. And so far this season, they’re 0-2 against the guys from the Windy City.
If there’s ever a time to turn things around, though, it’s now, at home. The Wizards are .500 in their last ten games, and they’re .500 in their 24 home games this season. An even 12-12. It’s not exactly the best homecourt advantage in the NBA, but the Wizards play considerably better — or at least they win considerably more — when they play in D.C.
The Wizards have a great chance to make their home record a winning one and get their first win over the Bulls this season. Chicago has lost five straight games coming into this game.
Here are three keys to a Washington Wizards victory.
