Agent Zero is coming back to the nation’s capital! He just won’t be wearing a Washington Wizards jersey on the court this time.

Washington Wizards fans, get your Gilbert Arenas jerseys out of the closet. Dust them off. And get your tickets. Agent Zero is coming back to Washington, D.C.

BIG3 just announced its 2020 schedule and one destination certainly stands out among the other ten cities on the list.

According to the schedule, the BIG3 will be taking over Capital One Arena on July 11. For the first time since the league launched back in 2017, Ice Cube’s three-on-three league will be coming to the nation’s capital.

The 2020 season will be Arenas’ second with the BIG3. While Arenas looked decent at times in his first season, he and his Enemies teammates underwhelmed. Especially after things started so brightly for the former NBA All-Star.

The team finished 3-5. Only one other team finished with a worse record and the Enemies missed the playoffs. While Arenas ranked 17th in the league minutes per game, he was nowhere near that in nearly every other statistical category.

Maybe getting back in a familiar arena-even if it’s been nearly a decade-can help Arenas catch fire and put on a show in front of his former home crowd fans.

Arenas played eight of his eleven NBA season in Washington. After coming to D.C. via trade in the summer of 2003, Arenas took over the nation’s capital and eventually the entire NBA, if only for a brief moment.

Inside the district, Arenas will always be remembered for his glorious three-year run with the Wizards. From 2004-07, Arenas led the Wizards to three straight playoff births, averaging over 25 points and five assists per game in each of the three seasons. Arenas’ unstoppable scoring earned him three consecutive All-Star and All-NBA selections.

Outside of the district, Arenas’ gun-in-the-locker-room fiasco will always tarnish his legacy. At his best, Arenas was one of the best bucket-getters we’ve ever seen, even out-dueling prime Kobe Bryant, to the tune of 60 points and a win in Kobe’s house.

Hopefully, Arenas’ emergence as a top tier podcast personality and fun run through the BIG3 can help people remember the ‘Hibachi!’ days and forget the handgun.
