What current Washington Wizards have playoff experience?
By Keith Cork
3. Davis Bertans
Davis Bertans may be the mos important name on this list of Washington Wizards. The reason being that he has perhaps the best and highest quality playoff experience appearing in three postseasons with the San Antoni Spurs under Gregg Popovich, the league’s best coach.
In those three seasons, he managed to see the floor for only 11.9 minutes per game, but he 16.1 minutes per game in his final two seasons there, being a major contributor off the bench behind LaMarcus Aldridge. He averaged 3 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1 assist with 29.8 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
The deflation in numbers in the playoffs as opposed to his regular season numbers, specifically from distance, is a bit concerning. I’ve mentioned in a few of my recaps before that when teams tend to game plan and key in on the Latvian Laser, his production goes down and he doesn’t know how to adjust.
His three-point percentage in the playoffs is evidence to me, being a far cry from his 41 percent during the regular season. But the 27-year-old may just be hitting his stride, and if the Washington Wizards can find their way to the playoffs this season, I’m sure we’ll see that climb.
