The Washington Wizards are still knocking on the door of the playoffs, just 4.5 games out. Here’s four guys that will need to step up to make it happen.
The 21-36 Washington Wizards sit in 9th in the Eastern conference, 28.5 games behind the 1st place Milwaukee Bucks. However, they are in striking distance of the 8th seed (and the playoffs) if they can somehow turn this thing around in their remaining 25 games.
Still a lot of season left, and we aren’t eliminated just yet, but we have to play better there’s no question about it. If we can end the season with a positive win/loss ration, we stand a good shot at a first round date with Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s Bucks.
And likely a first round exit, but playoff experience could really be a boon to the plethora of players in their early 20’s on this Washington Wizards roster. I, for one, am of the opinion that it should be the season’s goal.
When John Wall returns next season, we’ll be set for a playoff run with some guys that have actually been there, and that has to be viewed as preferable over a bunch of inexperienced young players. Bradley Beal is playing out of his mind right now, giving everyone in DC hope that even if Wall isn’t one hundred percent the same player when he returns, we can still be a successful squad.
But let’s look at the players before us, shall we? The Washington Wizards have a tough close to the season and came out of the all-star break with the second toughest schedule in regard to cumulative opponent winning percentage (.531), and a league-worst six games with a rest disadvantage, according to NBA.com.
In order to win the requisite amount of games to make a playoff appearance, these four guys are going to have to step up big time, including a controversial opinion at the end.
