2. Troy Brown Jr.

I’ve been saying it basically all season, but Troy Brown Jr. just doesn’t look comfortable as a starter. Troy Brown has an undue amount of stress on him on this Washington Wizards squad, mostly because our depth at the wing position is non-existent.

I’ve seen people clamoring for Davis Bertans to start at the small forward position, and while I think that may be doable in spurts his slow feet on defense would really just be a net negative for a Wizards squad not known for their defense.

The Washington Wizards are 5-8 in 13 Troy Brown starts, which isn’t great. But it’s pretty much on par with their entire season. The problem here is that Troy Brown has been a non-factor, and even while he’s coming off the bench behind Isaac Bonga, he’s getting a lion’s share of the minutes and should be taking a ton of shots.

The Washington Wizards are 6-8 when Troy Brown shoots 11 or more shots in a game, so what I’d like to see from TBJ is a bit more aggression on the offensive end. He’s shooting a respectable 46 percent from the field on the season with a legitimate 32.8 percent mark from downtown.

If the Wizards are going to hope to make a push for the playoffs, he absolutely has to play well at the thin wing position for this Washington squad. If he can get aggressive again and up his shot attempts to around 10 per game, it will bode well for us.
