5. Anthony Edwards

Player Profile:

The Washington Wizards stand very little chance of drafting Anthony Edwards, but if they somehow luck into a top two pick, he’s the right choice for the team. Edwards is a consensus top two pick, and for very good reason.

His athleticism is absolutely elite, and we could play Beal at the small forward position if we have to in order to start him, he’s just that good that he deserves that kind of floor time. He’s been compared to Dwyane Wade and Donovan Mitchell, but I like the “bigger Victor Oladipo” comparison best of all.

He’ll be 19 years old and if it weren’t for the age I would call him more “NBA-ready” than even Obi Toppin, but he still has some room physically to fill out and grow. And at 19, he’s just an insane baller with the natural ability to score the ball, read double-teams, and make the right pass.

Anthony Edwards is averaging 19.8 points and 2.9 assists for Georgia this season and the Washington Wizards would sure be glad to get him with his estimated wins added on par with another (should be) rising star of the NBA, Thomas Bryant.

Player Comparison: Victor Oladipo

Estimated Wins Added: 3.9

Current Wizards Similarity:  Thomas Bryant (3.9)
