3. January 30 vs. Charlotte Hornets

This season, Bradley Beal has been racking up the 30-point, 40-point, and 50-point games. All incredibly impressive. But he’s yet to record a triple-double this season. In the Wizards’ win over the Charlotte Hornets at the end of January, Beal almost pulled it off.

This game was Beal’s most complete, as he finished just one assist and one rebound away from a 34-point triple-double. Beal got most of his scoring out early, scoring 25 by the end of the first half. Then he transitioned to more of a facilitator role as the game went on. In the second half, Beal assisted on five Wizards baskets and grabbed five rebounds.

On his way to a 25-point first half, Beal shot 12 field goal attempts and 12 free throws. Things slowed down quite a bit, though, as Beal took just four shots and three free throws.

Instead of forcing his shot and playing hero ball down the stretch, Beal looked to get others involved. And it worked. The Wizards came back in the second half of this one to take a slight edge on the season series vs Charlotte.

Final Score: Wizards 121 – Hornets 107

Beal’s final line: 34 PTS, 9 REB, 9 AST, 1 BLK, 3 TOV; 7/16 FG, 6/12 3PT, 14/15 FT

Season series: 2-1 vs. Charlotte
