February 24 vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Beal’s second shot at the Milwaukee Bucks turned out to go a lot better than the first meeting this season between the two teams. While that game is one of Beal 25+ point performances this season, it was Khris Middleton who wowed with 51 points in Milwaukee’s 151-131 route of the Wizards. And they did that without Giannis Antetonkoumpo.
Beal made sure it wouldn’t be the same story the second time around. One night after dropping a then-career-high 53 points against the Chicago Bulls, Bradley Beal came out and carried one of the East’s worst teams in an epic battle against one of the NBA’s best. In doing so, he set a new scoring high for himself, pouring in 55 efficient points. Beal shot 57 percent from the floor that night, 62 percent from three, and 90 percent from the foul line. The man could not miss.
Beal’s 55 points are the most scored by a Wizard since Gilbert Arenas dropped 60 on the Los Angeles Lakers in 2007, and he’s the first man to wear a Wizards jersey and score 50 points in back to back games.
Although the Wizards weren’t able to come up with a win once this game went to overtime, Beal showed just how far he’s come since being drafted to now being one of the franchise’s most prolific scorers. And against the NBA’s best team, Beal showed he can lead an extremely competitive team against contenders. Just wait until he gets some help…
Final Score: Bucks 137 – Wizards 134
Beal’s final line: 55 PTS, 2 REB, 3 AST, 9 TOV; 19/33 FG, 8/13 3PT, 9/10 FT
Season series: 0-2 vs. Milwaukee
