30.5: Bradley Beal’s points per game average, 2nd in franchise history

There’s absolutely no way you can talk about defining numbers for the Washington Wizards and not talk about Bradley Beal’s numbers. Specifically, his scoring numbers.

After posting the best offensive season of his career last season, Beal took it up a notch. He’s currently second in the NBA in scoring, averaging 30.5 points per game. Only James Harden scores more than Beal does. And only Walt Bellamy posted a higher ppg average for this franchise during an entire season.

Yet, even as Beal torched nearly every defense in the NBA, he was left off of this year’s All-Star squad. Since the news of Beal’s snubbing, he’s elevated an offensive onslaught that was already an incredible one to witness.

In 18 games since January 28, Bradley Beal has averaged 34.8 points per game and is shooting an absurd 41 percent from behind the arc. He had back-to-back 50-point games, and he scored at least 40 points in four of those games. He set the franchise record for consecutive 25-point games. He’s unstoppable.

Yeah, the Wizards might have done a lot of losing this season, even when Beal does take over the scoring. However, without Beal’s efforts, this team wouldn’t be anywhere near 24.

Beal was a borderline All-NBA snub last season and a legitimate All-Star snub this season. If he’s not among the All-NBA honorees this summer…D.C. should riot.
