3 Reasons to be optimistic about the Washington Wizards in the bubble

The Washington Wizards aren’t at top strength in the NBA bubble, but there’s still reason to be optimistic about what they can do.

The NBA is back. After taking more than four months off as the country and world attempted to handle the coronavirus outbreak, the NBA is ready to start things up again in their sterile bubble environment down in DisneyWorld.

What looked at first like a fun opportunity for the Washington Wizards to lay everything on the line and force an unexpected playoff run, that reality is now far less likely. Even as the Brookly Nets continue to lose player after player before action restarts, the Wizards will also be without Bradley Beal and Davis Bertans. John Wall will also remain sidelined, as he has been all season.

But even though the Wizards are 5.5 games out of a playoff spot and without their two top scorers, there’s still reason to be optimistic about this team and their chances.

For one, they’re actually playing! The Wizards were the one lucky Eastern Conference team outside of the playoff seeding to be invited to the bubble. The fact that the team gets to continue their season of development, and that we as fans are lucky enough to watch them play after months without sports, is reason to be happy in itself. Let’s not forget to celebrate the small victories.

But beyond that, the Wizards have good reason to look at Disney World as a glass-half-full type of situation, no matter how bleak the case may seem on the surface. Here’s why…
