The Washington Wizards will have a stretch of games to figure out what they have in some of their young prospects moving forward.

Twenty-two teams were invited to play in Orlando for the restarted NBA season. With playoff implications still on the line, it wasn’t clear just who would be invited to what is now being called the ‘NBA bubble’ down in Disney World. Luckily, the Washington Wizards received an invite and are now gearing up for games down in Orlando.

As it currently stands, the Wizards sit 5.5 games behind Orlando Magic for the Eastern Conference’s eighth seed. The seventh-place Brooklyn Nets are 6.0 games ahead of the Wizards.

For the Wizards, this restart will be interesting because their performance in the bubble could affect their playoff chances and their draft lottery odds.

Because lottery seeding is based on team records from then the season was suspended in March, the Wizards will be glued to the ninth-best odds, UNLESS they make it into the playoffs. A playoff birth would push them out of the lottery.

In Orlando, the Wizards will be without Bradley Beal. Davis Bertans’ season is also done. And John Wall remains sidelined, as he has been since December 2018.

With that much firepower off the floor, development has taken precedent over a playoff run. Honestly, Wizards couldn’t ask for a better scenario entering Orlando.

They will get the chance to evaluate some of these young guys and figure out what they will have moving forward as they gear up for next season, aka John Wall’s return.

What each Washington Wizards’ prospect should work on in Orlando.

So let’s talk development and let’s talk prospect. A few of the Wizards’ young guys have shown some promise but have struggled to establish themselves. The bubble will be the perfect place for them to work on a few things for next season.

Let’s jump into some goals for each Washington Wizards prospect as they enter the bubble in Orlando…
