Stud: Jerome Robinson

Heading into the bubble, the Washington Wizards made it clear that they were going to use it as a chance to take a long look at their large group of young players. Since play began in Orlando, the Wizards have played nine players under the age of 24, and most of them have been the primary contributors every game.

None of them have improved upon their pre-bubble showings as much as Jerome Robinson. In the loss to Philadelphia, Robinson led the team in scoring with 19 points. He’s currently the Wizards’ second-leading scorer in the bubble.

After coming over to the Wizards at the trade deadline, Robinson struggled early on with the Wizards, especially shooting the basketball. Robinson played only 13 games with the Wizards before the season was suspended. Aside from a buzzer-beating game-winner vs. the Brooklyn Nets, they were fairly unimpressive. Robinson shot just 36 percent from the field and 32 percent from three in those 13 games before the season was suspended.

Since returning to action in Orlando, we’ve seen a whole different Jerome Robinson. One that shoots with confidence, and makes it. Through four bubble games, Robinson is shooting 46 percent from the field and 36 percent from three.

Robinson has been one of the biggest and best surprises within the bubble for the Wizards. It’s a small sample size, but it’s great to see Robinson shooting with confidence and looking like the player the Wizards hoped he was when they took a flier on him.
