Reason #3: Three-Point Efficiency

Justin Holiday has proven over his seven-year career to be a knockdown three-point shooter. Last season with the Indiana Pacers was his best year percentage-wise, as he connected on 40.5 percent of his three-point attempts. He’s a 36 percent three-point shooter for his entire career and that’s on decent volume. He’s averaged four attempts per game. The Washington Wizards could always use some more shooting on their team. Besides Davis Bertans and Thomas Bryant, no one else who is currently on the roster shot 40 percent or higher from behind the arc last season. Holiday would immediately become the third most efficient three-point shooter in a Wizards jersey.

Even though he can shoot the basketball at a high clip, Holiday’s game doesn’t revolve around scoring. Last season he attempted less than seven shots per game in 25 mins of play. He averaged 8.3 PPG last year. Only twice in his career has he averaged more than 10 PPG for an entire season. Holiday brings a lot more to the table than offense and that’s what makes him so valuable. He knows his role, plays it well, and can affect the game without scoring.
