The 2020-21 season is finally upon us. Here’s some bulletin board material to get you ready for the Washington Wizards tip-off against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Mumbo Sauce v. The Cheesesteak; Jawn v.  Moe;  Guh vDrawling – we are talking, of course, about Philadelphia v. DC.  And tonight, the cities basketball teams do battle, with early-season bragging rights at stake. The 76ers attempt to extend its all-time series lead over the Wizards; the Washington Wizards look to once again defeat the city that it bested in becoming the Nation’s Capital. With both fanbases anxious but full of hope, excited and optimistic, something must give. As always, one of the teams must lose.

So, I checked in with diehard Philadelphia 76ers supporter, @DontBeAnUch, for some bulletin board material. We go through a series of back-and-forth, objective-yet-biased analyses on both team’s chances for tonight’s game and for the entire season.

The opening night matchup between these two teams will be a tough test for the Wizards out of the gate. After missing the playoffs each of the past two seasons, the franchise is hungry to get back to the postseason. They couldn’t have made that any clearer when they traded John Wall for Russell Westbrook. How the Wizards fare against the 76ers — one of the Eastern Conference contenders — will show us just how realistic those playoff aspirations are.

The Wizards went 1-2 vs. the 76ers last season. Let’s see if they can reverse their fortunes and start the 2020-21 season with a win.
