The Oklahoma City Thunder could convince the Washington Wizards to trade Bradley Beal

If Bradley Beal leaves Washington, it means a full rebuild is in store for the Washington Wizards. And what better way to rebuild than with draft picks? If the Wizards want to deal Beal for as much draft capital as possible, they only need to make one call. They need to call Sam Presti and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Over the past few seasons, the Oklahoma City Thunder has turned Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and Chris Paul into an almost unfathomable number of first-round picks. Depending on how protections play out, the Thunder could have as many as 19 first-round picks through the next seven drafts. A deal with the Thunder could make the Wizards rich with draft picks overnight in a way no other deal could.

The only issue is the Thunder don’t have a player besides Shai Gilgeous-Alexander that is worth getting excited about in a hypothetical trade with OKC. Moving SGA for Beal is somewhat of a lateral move for Oklahoma City, as they wouldn’t have the pieces in place around Beal to really compete once he arrives.

So it is draft picks or bust. Maybe the Wizards can get Luguentz Dort to come to D.C. and teach everyone how to play defense, but the Wizards may have to wait a bit to see the rewards of this deal.
