The Miami Heat could convince the Washington Wizards to trade Bradley Beal

Building draft capital is great. But one thing better than a chance at drafting a good player is knowing you’re acquiring one. If the Miami Heat want to put Bradley Beal next to Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo — news from the rumor mill that’s been recycled for the better part of the past two seasons — then the Wizards could get back some young players that have already proven they can get it done at the NBA level.

Any deal for Beal would need to include Tyler Herro, who joined Rui Hachimura as a member of the All-Rookie second team last season. Add in rookie Precious Achiuwa or Duncan Robinson, and that’s a tough package for the Wizards to turn down even if the Heat can’t provide as many draft picks as other teams.

The Heat were reportedly in conversations to acquire James Harden, but Pat Riley wasn’t willing to part ways with enough assets for Houston’s liking. Now Harden is in Brooklyn, and the Heat are on the wrong side of .500. After making it to the Eastern Conference Finals last season, that success hasn’t spilled over into this season for the Heat. 25 games in, and they’re 11-14. They need some help. For the right price, Beal could be the bucket getter they need in South Beach.
