The Denver Nuggets could convince the Washington Wizards to trade Bradley Beal

He’s 21 years old. He’s averaging 14.9 points and 6.4 rebounds on 64.3 percent true shooting. His name is Michael Porter Jr., and if the Denver Nuggets have any interest in adding Bradley Beal in an attempt to keep up with the all-powerful Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference, then the Wizards need to ensure he’s part of the deal.

After coming one game short of the NBA Finals last season, the Denver Nuggets are off to a less than impressive start. They’re currently 7th in the Western Conference and have gone 13-11 through their first 24 games.

They need some help, and Bradley Beal would help elevate the Nuggets in an instant. A win for Denver. And if the Wizards were able to get Michael Porter Jr, they could hit the ground running with a young core that could still be relatively competitive. A win for Washington.

The Wizards could kickstart the rebuild with a rising star in MPJ and pair him next to Rui Hachimura and Deni Avdija. Suddenly, the Wizards have something exciting in Washington again without missing much of a beat.

Of course, Porter alone wouldn’t be enough to get the deal done. The Nuggets have plenty of first-round picks to offer. And, ideally, some combination of Gary Harris, PJ Dozier, and RJ Hampton. It would be a steep price, but that’s what the Nuggets would need to pay for the NBA’s leading scorer. If the Nuggets are willing, the Wizards would be fools not to take them up on it.
