Can the Washington Wizards extend their winning streak? Here are three things to watch for when they take on the Denver Nuggets!

Two wins in a row! Thank God! Forgive my sarcasm but the Washington Wizards have only had two “winning streaks” in what has been a disappointing season so far. This latest victory did have a special significance, though. Washington was able to sour John Wall’s return to D.C. as they handily beat the Rockets 131-119.

Bradley Beal and John Wall, the two former teammates who have developed a great brotherhood, battled it out all night. Wall finished with 29 points, 11 assists, and 3 rebounds but he shot 10-26 from the field. Bradley Beal, on the other hand, could not be contained once again finishing with 37 points (14-24 FG), 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. No disrespect to Wall but the NBA’s leading scorer (33.1 PPG) continues to show why the organization chose to make him the new face of the franchise.

Even in a loss, Wall looked great, and reminded Wizards fans what they could have this season. But the man replacing him, Russell Westbrook, is starting to find his groove. He dropped his sixth triple-double of the season (16 points, 13 rebounds, and 15 assists) and for the first time all year, it led to a Wizards win! Westbrook was dealing with a quad injury to begin the year but his explosion is finally starting to come back. Just take a look at this dunk to close out the game and you’ll see.

Washington has a nice, little win streak going but there’s still a ton of ground to make up if they want to make the playoffs. They’re currently 14th in the Eastern Conference with an 8-17 record, so they must continue to stack wins to get back in contention.

Here are 3 things to watch for when the Denver Nuggets and Washington Wizards face off tonight!
