Aaron Gordon: Orlando Magic

Does Aaron Gordon want out of Orlando? The seven-year veteran wing recently requested a trade from the Magic. But less than 48 hours before the deadline, Gordon is reportedly having second thoughts about that.

However, if Gordon wants out, he’d be a great fit in Washington. The athletic wing can guard two through five, and the Wizards need a versatile defender that isn’t also a liability on the offensive end (*cough* Isaac Bonga *cough*). On the offensive side of the ball, Gordon’s an explosive threat to drive but is also an underrated three-point shooter. Gordon is currently shooting 39 percent from beyond the arc on 4.5 attempts per game.

The Magic are reportedly looking to be neither buyers nor sellers, but thieves, at the deadline. Although seemingly everyone is for sale in Orlando, everyone has a HIGH price tag.

Jerami Grant: Detroit Pistons

I don’t see why the Pistons would be shopping Jerami Grant already. After signing Grant to a huge contract this past offseason, Grant is rewarding the Pistons for their trust after he showed flashes of potential in Denver.

Grant has turned those flashes into 23.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game as the Pistons’ leading man.

Grant is a lab-created Wizards fixer. He can do literally everything the Wizards need of a wing and is on a trajectory that would fit perfectly next to Beal. While Grant — 26 years old — enters his prime and emerges as a legitimate All-Star wing, Beal is firmly in his prime as one of the NBA’s elite scorers.

The Boston Celtics seem to be showing the most interest in Grant, but the Pistons are reportedly turning down huge offers from around the NBA. I don’t blame them, but I wouldn’t mind if the Wizards made a monster offer that changed their minds, either.
